The Challenge

Our client, a major scaffolding contractor, was managing over 30 teams of skilled workers across hundreds of construction sites throughout Greater London—using a patchwork of spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and paper-based sign-off sheets.
The Pain Points

Our Process
Discovery & Research
We spent time on-site with scaffolding teams—understanding their daily workflows, pain points, and the reality of using technology whilst working at height in all weather conditions. This wasn't about building what we thought they needed; it was about deeply understanding their world.
User-Centred Design
The app needed to work for everyone—from tech-savvy project managers to experienced scaffolders who'd never used anything beyond a smartphone's basic features. We designed large touch targets for gloved hands, high-contrast interfaces visible in bright sunlight, and workflows that could be completed in under 30 seconds.
Iterative Development
We built in phases, testing with real users at every stage. The first version focused purely on digital sign-offs—proving the concept before adding complexity. Each subsequent release added features based on actual user feedback, not assumptions.
